The house move went just fine I'm thrilled to report. I'm now two weeks in my new pad and very nice it is too. Still no Internet access unfortunately, so I'm writing this from the W cafe.
An hour with Internet access after two weeks without is a glorious thing. I checked my bank balance, caught up with Facebook, read the news, cleared my emails, checked my ex boyfriend's blog for defamatory comments. Now I'm ready to blog.
We were lucky enough to receive visitors last week, My good friends J&J came for a
three day break. I'd originally thought three days wasn't long enough, but soon realised three days is in fact the perfect amount of time to see Doha. Any longer and I'm afraid Doha reveals itself to be a little wanting... The absolute highlight for us was the trip out to the desert for dune bashing. I knew we were going driving over sand dunes, but I'd not appreciated how fast he would drive, nor how high and dangerous the dunes would be. It was thrilling, like a roller coaster, I laughed non stop. I'd not had that much fun since Alton towers, and you know how much I love Alton towers... Throw in a camel ride and swimming in the inland sea, looking across to Saudi Arabia - it was the best fun we've had since we arrived.
Sadly my friends have gone, and in their place has arrived the most bonkers humidity I've ever experienced, it's crazy. When you look out the window you think it's a thick pea souper, but when you open the window you realise it's steam, not fog. It's basically a sauna.
We've used the weather as an excuse to hole up in our new flat this weekend, but the truth is we've become codependents of the worst kind. N's capacity for playing hours and hours of championship manager on the computer is matched only by my ability to watch 5 consecutive episodes of Madmen. We know it's wrong, we want to stop, but you see, if I tell him to stop playing computer games, he'll make me stop watching Madmen, and neither of us wants that. So neither of us says anything, and day turns to night, and precious little gets done. I'm amazed I've made time to write this blog to be honest, and on that note, I'd better give the computer back to N, because I've got a DVD to watch...
Doha!? Whaaaaa?! Married? Wowzers!
ReplyDeleteSounds fab :)
