Golf in the Gulf

Well, for someone who doesn't like sport, i'm certainly watching a lot of sport. This weekend I went to the Qatar Golf Masters, where I discovered that golf isn't much of a spectator sport, particularly if you're wearing
slightly uncomfortable shoes. But I did get to stand very close to some world class golfing athletes, apparently.

This weekend i'll be enjoying a bit of cycling as 'Le Tour' visits Qatar, then at the end of February it's the Qatar Ladies Tennis Open, with the Williams sisters  - if I can find the ticket booth...

I don't know who this chap is - but look how close he is. Thrilling.

But it's not all international sporting events don't you know. I've also been doing my fair share of eating out in fancy hotels - one of my favourite pass times. Two days ago N declared a moratorium on eating out - he felt it was getting out of control - I was distraught. But then happiness struck - we bought a copy of 'Entertainer Qatar'. It's a book stuffed full of two for one vouchers valid at loads of Qatar restaurants - the perfect marriage of my love of eating out and N's love of two for one vouchers. The sticker on the front says: *'£43 - £13,000 of free value' - N's little eyes lit up - it was a happy moment for both of us.
