Well – we’ve just returned from watching Iran v South Korea in the quarter finals of the Asian Cup at Qatar Sports Club stadium. If you were watching it on TV, you might have seen me – I was the one sitting in amongst a load of South Koreans, chanting sounds that resembled Korean songs at the top of my voice. It was
very jolly indeed – a bit like going to an Accrington Stanley game but more fun, warmer, with (slightly) better football, friendlier fans, no booze and without the beer bellies.

Actually it was nothing like an Accrington Stanley game.
I’m starting to feel a bit more normal after our whirlwind first few days here – which came hard on the heels of a whirlwind last few days in the UK. We’ve spent our first weekend sleeping, missing breakfast, eating in American style restaurants, buying suitable work clothes and shopping in an enormous Carrefour supermarket. I love shopping in foreign supermarkets, the stuff’s the same – but it all seems so exotic. Even N was tricked into finding grocery shopping vaguely diverting for 20 minutes.
We’ve been particularly enjoying all the new wedding photos that our lovely photographer Eliza Claire has posted up on her site: www.elizaclaire.com/blog
